I just took possession of my 2007 525i and I wanted to add the cell phone phone cradle for the car because it takes advantage of the external antenna and provides power to the phone. I already have the Bluetooth interface/directory working in the car. So after purchasing a new Motorola E815 and paying the $140 as advertised on the BMW (corporate site) for the cellular phone cradle/adapter, I go to my friendly BMW dealer for the installation. The salesman had ordered the part for me and said that he could put it in as he'd done it before.

After fooling around inside of the car, the salesman goes and gets a technican who starts to work on the thing. The technician says that there is a part missing so the Parts Manager gets involved. He confirms that a part is missing and that it is an additional $145. He also pulls the order for my car which says that it has the "Complete Cellular Preparation Package" included. So I'm asking myself why after spending $79 for a new phone and $140 for the BMW specified part, why am I being asked to spend another $145. The Parts Manager is not real helpful when he says that BMW stands for Bring Money Withyou!
The salesman then took me to the General Manager who promised to research the problem and get back with me soon. Has anyone had a similar experience?
