 545i vs. 550i

Hi All:
just came back from a BMW dealer. they still have four new '05 545i in stock and also couple of new 550i. I am not sure which one to choose. do u think I will get a good deal on the left over 05's? this will be my first BMW, not very sure what kind of price I can get from the dealers.

any suggestions will help me. thanks a lot!

Go back to the dealer with the four 545i and have them give you a quote on the 545i. DO NOT have them quote you a price on the 550i. Once you get their quote, go to other dealers to get prices on the 550i. The dealer with the 545i's will probably make the 545i look like a great bargain because they want to unload them. They will probably not take too much off the 550i's just to make you think the 545i is the better deal, when it may not be.

Then post the prices here.

It all depends on what options you are looking for in the Bimmer you want and the engine size is just one option. If there is a 545i that has most of the options you want, make sure you negotiate a really good price (i.e. Below invoice) to take care of most of the depreciation and possibly the added miles from test drives.

You have to remember those 545i's have been sitting there a LONG time now, can't believe they still have `05 inventory! Which means your buying nearly a 2 model year old car seeing `07's will be out rather soon (so factor that depreciation into the overall value) I only see one way, the 550i. Hasn't been sitting for a long time, less test drives if any and who doesn't like a bit more power
