I got an Offer on a 525i and was wondering if the price is decent?

Hello everyone.

I got an email from a dealer today that can do a order for me without me being present at his facility and he can offer me a 2007 525i with Manual Transmission, Xenon lights, Navigation, Cold weather package, Dakota Leather and says the MSRP is $48,995 and the selling price on this car would be $47,680.

From my Calculations (invoice price)

525i port of entry $40,200.00
Xenon Lights $730.00
Navigation: $1,640.00
Cold weather Pkg. $685.00
Destination Charge : $695.00
Dakota Leather: $1320.00

Total : $45,270.00

Dealer Profit : $1,000 - $1,500

Grand total should be: $46,270.00 - $46,770.00
Not including taxes I would assume.

Am I correct? or am I missing something? Any suggestions?

Thank you for the reply.

At first, I thought you had the base price wrong. For $40,200 you can get a 530 delivered in Munich through the ED program. Check it out.
Otherwise, your numbers/logic looks about right. I doubt you will get this dealer down to your level of profit margin, though.

A dealer profit of $1000 is probably on the low side and will take some time, but not impossible. I would say that $1500 or $1750 should be quite doable in most regions.

So the dealers selling price to me at $47,680 for the options is decent?

I wonder approx. how much it will be additional with allt he taxes and fees.

Regarding ED I don't think that is possible for me due to my work situation after this coming vacation when I go back to my home town to purchase my car I won't have time to fly.

It is not uncommon for ED deals to be done exclusively via e-mail and mail. You actually do not have to meet your dealer in person until you take redelivery of your car. When you combine this fact with the possibility of a Courtesy Delivery ($500) your field of possible dealers just expanded to all of USA! Also, you can fly to Munich, take delivery and fly back in two days if time is of the essence. Not that I would recommend that fast a trip, but it can be done. Good luck to you and I hope you get your dream car at a fair price.

Actually I am not doing a ED, but just an order on the specific options I want Mainly a Manual Transmission. At least I don't think I am doing an ED lol.
