 Comfort Access questions

Sorry if these have been asked before. I have searched the threads but did not find the specific answers to these questions.

I just order a 2007 550 with Comfort Access and, after reading some of the threads, am beginning to think it's way more trouble than it's worth. My questions are:

1 - Do you have to explicitly lock the car by pressing the lock button on the fob or touching the button on the door handle? I am concerned that the car locks itself when you simply walk away from the car. I would not like that.

2 - How far away from the car does the fob have to be before the car no longer "sees" it. I keep the keys about 20 feet from the car (in the house on the other side of a wall from the garage). I do not want the car and fob to be constantly trying to "talk" to each other.

3 - Is there a seperate manual for CA? I have the 2006 manual in PDF form and there is no mention of CA in it!

Thanks in advance.

#1 - The car will not lock by itself when you walk away from it. You must touch specific spot on door handle to lock all doors and trunk.
#2 - 20 feet away through a wall should be a safe distance.
#3 - Reference to CA should be in the manual that arrives with your car.

Clarity on item #2.

Service Bulletin on CA states that fob must be within 1.5 meters of the antenna in the device that you are trying to activate; i.e. if you trying to lock or unlock the drivers door, the fob needs to be within 1.5 meters of the door.

That's almost 5 feet!!! I have to be right on top of it to get it to work, and sometimes I even have to rearrange the key fob in my pocket to get it to work!
