Frustrated with lack of delivery information

Just letting off steam - was supposed to get my new 530xi last week at an NY dealership. For some reason they shipped it to Charleston, South Carolina instead even though the ship stopped at NY on the way to Charleston. The car was offloaded in Charleston on 4/13 (4 days ago). 2 days ago on 4/15 the dealer looked it up on whatever system they have and said it was showed that it had left SC by road and was due in NY yesterday. Today I called him and he said its now showing that it's still in SC but he's not sure where.

Why is it that BMW NA doesn't have access to the same systems that the dealer has, and neither they nor the dealer can track a 60K car? I'm in the IT business and I can't imagine how messed up their systems are if they aren't all able to access the same system or know for sure what's going on and where the Owners Circle system is a few days old so its pretty useless!

WT, that's just par for the course. BMW considers designing and making great luxury performance vehicles to be their core competency. So, they negelect some other things that we might value, like a decent order tracking system for customers to use.

I know..just dying to get it in my hands - I've owned a 3 series, an X5 and then "strayed from the path" by buying a Lexus because I had a lot of problems with my X5, but couldn't take it anymore so switching back to BMW! I have to go out of town for a couple of weeks and I just know the car will come the day I leave!

my car was on the Franconia as well, due in on the 12th (sooner before delays). my dealer told me last thursday that is hit the VPC, was due to leave Friday, the 14th and arrive at dealer on Easter Sunday, the 16th. I saw it on Centernet with my own eyes. I knew that the dealer was closed on Sunday, so I called Monday, yesterday, and was told it was still in Charleston, but supposedly was trucked out yesterday for delivery tomorrow or Thursday. I have no idea. I am impatient too!!!
