Has anyone experienced problems with automatic windshield wipers after applying rain x?

I tried Rain-X in the past on non-automated wiper cars and found it to be much more trouble than it is worth! It caused the wipers to chatter across the windshield and a build up of residue from the wipers was evident on the glass.

I use Stoner glass cleaner and it works great! It has the water beading capabilities of Rain-X without the residue and it works fine on my MY07 530xi automated wipers.

Ditto-Stoner Invisible Glass is one of the best products I have used on the wind shield as well as the other windows and the moon roof.

Rain-X is crap, I threw my bottle away. I suggest you do the same.

I don't use it on the front windows because of chatter. So I never had the experience of the auto wipers issue.

I do use rain x on the side and back windows and side mirrors so when you are driving the wind helps clear them somewhat better.

Agreed, I used to use Rain-x until my window started getting the residue build up as well.
