Help please (fan noise inside)
I just got my 07 550i (sports package) on Wed april 5th.
I can hear a fan noise coming from under the glove box (passenger side). The fan noise is very audilble especially when you turn off AC and radio....(still can hear it wih lowest level of AC and soft radio).
Dealer said : All 5 series do that.....I did not get the chance to sit in another one to listen.....I cannot beleive the car would have this sound....After you turn off the engine the fan noise continues for about 10 seconds and stops.....
Please help .... this is super annoying.....it is so audible that I only drive the car with the radio and AC on so it will mask the noise...

Hello from Spain:
I have got a E60 540i (I think this model is not available there), but the fan “problem” is the same. It seems that there is nothing to do: it is a cooling fan for the electronics in this area of the car (according to my vendor).

Yes I have logic 7 ....the dealer also told me it was a cooling fan for the electronics.....but I guess the inside of the car is never quiet evn with RADIO OFF and AC OFF ???

Hi again:
You are right. One of de ECUs is inside the car and it is working all the time.
By the way: have you ever noticed any throttle lag? (delay between pressing the gas pedal and car reaction). Mine is driving me crazy and even a few days ago the car accelerated when, at low speed, I lifted my foot off pedal (here in Europe we still prefer manual gear, like mine).

This is one noise I either don't have or never noticed. And certainly no lag at all. My Audi on the other hand......that had lag to the point of being a potentially deadly vehicle.
