Sorry for asking what might seem like a stupid question but 3 people at the dealer didn't have the answer.
I know what adaptive xenons are and what they do.

Do you mean Brake Force Display ? If so under normal braking the brake lamps and center brake lamps light up.
Forceful braking or braking with ABS: the illuminated area of the rear brake lamps also increase.

There is a web site that explains all of these things using mpeg files. Adaptive brake lights are one of the files.
