MY2008 535i debut with "big facelift" next June?

Quote from e60.net forum (from someone in London):

********************************************
3.0 (530i/530xi) litre engine will be produced until end of may 2007 and will then be phased out to be replaced by the 3.5BI-turbo engine. producing 306bhp. No 340bhp part for the standard e60
....
Expect a big big facelift around may 2007, bmw is really putting a lot of resources into this, expect the back light cluster to be altered, front lights, construction of the bumpers including the welding procedure (as in use the plastic application found in the e63), interior revisions including a change (possibly) in the instrument cluster
********************************************

Any comments?

I'm anxious to see the new 306hp turbo in 5, and wish BMW do something to de-Banglize the 5. That popstar's design has created a dilemma to me - a best-driving-machine with an ugliest butt (I think, if BMW can't design something as sexy as J Lo's, they should at least stay with E39's Plain Jane).

Eh- I'd take it with a grain of salt.

All information I've seen so far on the E60 facelift has indicated it will be quite mild, like the Z4 facelift.

I'm not sure it would make sense to put the 3.5ltr turbo in the 5 sedan. I'm not sure there's a buyer for it, and I'm not sure there would be enough differentiation between a 530 and a 550. Maybe put it in the wagon? A 535xiT might be interesting...

Why not if they bump 550 power to something like 400 hp.

I'd buy it, provided it came in a manual.

I prefer the lighter weight and greater road feel of a 6 cylinder engine.

Fuel economy would be better too.

Twin turbo Touring? So long as a 6 speed is available, you can safely put me down for that.
