 Active steering

I am planning to take sport package in my 5 series. I am wondering whether I should also be taking active steering. Does it make a big difference in driving experience? Does it make it a lot more fun to drive?

Maybe it's just me, but I think the regular steering has a slight dead spot on-center which is annoying. I don't remember active steering having any dead spot whatsoever as it was direct and linear no matter what speed you were traveling.

The only thing about A/S that took a little getting used to was parking maneuvers because I noticed that the steering lock came on so quick after a turn or so.

I really think that the 5 was designed with A/S in mind, and that anything else is a compromise that deviates from the original design of the car. . . .that's my opinion . . .
