We know that VW marketing execs check out forums to help them figure out what's the next best thing for them to offer . . . .Let's help the guys at BMW out . . .
If you could suggest improvements, besides horsepower, etc., to the 550i, what would they be?
I'll start . .
1. I would have loved to have the matte wood option that is available in the 7 series. I love it because it looks and FEELS like real wood. I also would have liked the option to have aluminum trim.
2. A double-clutch SMG. The problem with SMG now is that it's too jerky. However, VW/Audi's DSG has a double clutch which allows it to work smoothly as a manual and an automatic.
3. LED tail lights.
4. Two-tone effect with the grey and beige interior like the way they do it with the auburn interior
5. Steering wheel paddles for the steptronic

Agree with the Aluminum Trim and two-tone interior suggestions. Especially the two-tone suggestion ... would add a lot of richness to the beige & gray interiors.
Would add:
1) 550iT with a manual transmission (BMW NA request) 2) M5 with a manual transmission 3) M5 Touring with (you guessed it) a manual transmission

(1) better brake modulation - the jerkey stops are driving me crazy
(2) more data displayed on the HUD - selected gear, etc.
(3) disable seatbelt chime for short and/or slow drives - makes my wife nuts.
These are minor but would make a GREAT car even better ! -steve-

Agree on brake modulation, I thought it was just me with the jerky stops and I wasn't about to tell you guys but now that you started it....
1. A change holder and like above, better storage.
