 Need Help Ordering '07 525I..

Hi everyone..

this is my first time posting on this forum, i've been reading up on a lot of post and trying to understand the whole ED purchasing. I've been wanting to order a 525I doesnt matter if its '06 or '07 but i believe since im ordering it now, i'll be getting the '07 correct?

what price would i use? Base usa port of entry @ $40,200? Base Euro del. @ $36,815?

when i do a ED purchase, does it need to be paid in full? or can i finance or lease it?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks thanks!!!

I drove the 525i this weekend. There were four of us in the car and there was plenty of power accelerating onto the freeway, etc. The engine is the same size as that on the 530i, but is "detuned" to lower HP.

I will be buying the 525, getting better gas mileage and producing lower emissions (if you care about that)
Better check that gas milage again:

For what it is worth: http://e60.net/information/options/engines/ says:

EPA(?):----------------- CO2
525: 19/28 MPG ------- 210 g/km
530: 19/29 MPG ------- 212 g/km

The emission numbers are from BMW.de (German BMW site). Interestingly, the fuel economy listed for Germany have a slight advantage to the 525 as far as fuel economy goes, as one would expect. Just goes to show you that the EPA numbers used in USA are "out of touch" with real life, I think.

I also wonder whether the 525 may be a better choice as far as long term reliability. Assuming all internal engine components are identical, a lower HP engine MAY last longer, right? I will shy away from the rumoured MY2008 twin-turbo models (528 and 535, I believe) for this reason -- too much HP from the same engine block...

According to fueleconomy.gov the 330i emissions depend on the type of transmission. A 3mode CLKUP (whatever that is) transmission results in the same fuel economy as the 525i. The 4mode results in worse economy and emissions. I stand partially corrected.
