CLK320 Cab
Had a chance to drive one for the past 2 days. Arguably the biggest "chick car" I've ever driven. Few surprises, but some observations:
--This drivetrain combination redefines langorous. An engine that isn't eager to rev, a transmission that shifts on its own time table, and try as I might I couldn't tell the difference between "Comfort" and "Sport" transmission modes.
--This car feels more massive than my 330 and 545. Combined. And not in a good way. You just get the sense that any transitions need to be planned well in advance, so as not to upset the good princess.
--Steering and brakes are vague. Vague like a press secretary's answers. Virtually undefinable.
--This car looks hot. Can't deny it. Especially with the top down. And you feel hot driving it. Just make sure you're going in a straight line, preferably next to a beach, and hopefully below 35 mph.

I've always liked the CLK's from an aesthetic point of view and thought they were one of the more beautiful cars on the road, but most Mercedes just aren't driver's cars and the CLK is no exception. Still, I couldn't help but check one out last time I was car shopping, but after driving BMW's for years, the CLK felt as heavy and unresponsive as a tank. I don't care how beautiful a car is on the outside. If it's no fun/boring to driving, no thanks.

The CL Coupe (hardtop) stands out for me as the most interesting from a design standpoint.....
