525 questions
I have been thinking about getting a BMW for a long time now - and in the next year I'll be purchasing something. I've started looking at the details of the cars. I know I want a 5 series - but find it odd that the 325 and 525 share the same engine? Isn't that 215 HP engine a bit small for a 5 series car?
Also, I'm surprised at how many options there are. Isn't it odd that a car as classy as a BMW has non-xenon lights standard? Do others find little things like this odd - or is there a reason I'm not thinking of? Others comments are welcome...

For a little more spirit, you can always slide it over to DS - sport mode - for higher revs b/w shifts. In Canada, at least, the differences b/w the 530 and 525 were so minimal, outside of the horses, it became an easy decision, especially for the diff in price. Now that being said, Xenons were standard, and about the only diffs were that I couldn't get heated rear seats.
That all being said, next time around (28 mths to go) the 550 or rumored 530iT will certainly be on my list - I suspect the price diff b/w the 525 and 530 may get smaller.

I would think that next year price of 525 would be the same as 530 since it would get the 255 HP engine. That means an increase of 3300 USD.
And price of 530 would increase by few thousands in view of the bi-turbo engine.
