Assuming the risk of sounding like Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear, the 550i is truly astonishing... it actually feels better the faster it goes, and at higher speed, you could feel the car get sucked down and glue itself to the road.

Been there with other cars. Tickets come next, then the insurance penalty. Careful, it's addicting!!!

very true . . . it takes more effort driving the car within "reasonable" limits

I agree. My recent cars were a Corvette Z06 and a Cadillac CTS-V. Both were more powerful than the 550i, but you knew you were going fast. The 550i is so smooth and refined, it's easy for the speed to sneak up on you. The way the engine keeps pulling reminds me of my K1200RS motorcycle -- smooth power that keeps going. I pride myself on staying within the speed limit, but it ain't easy!

Staying within the speed limit in a 550i - HaHaHaHaHa!!! Never have and never will. Buy an Buick to do that.

Since when did BMWs stay under the limit? There are cheaper, more practical cars for that job.
