hey guys another queston for you guys. What is the real story with smg. I want to know if i should get it for a new 550. In the automatic mode (where you dont have to shift) is it as bad as they say. Would my wife know the diff between it and a regular automatic? Is it as bad in automatic as i have read in the atuo mags? I would drive this car most of the time but my would drive it once in a while and she would drive in the auto mode.

The SMG is not a replacement for an automatic, it's a replacement for a stick.

It will be very jerky.

With a little bit of training your auto SMG can be almost as good as a slush box.
People just have to realise that it is not a slush box and needs some training.
