HELP - E60 Sport Bent Rims
I know the N. Cal. roads are terrible...but in 7000 miles of driving I have bent 4 of the 18" wheels. I am upset.
I called BMWNA today to express my displeasure....I have never bent a wheel in all my 47 years of driving....now 4 in 7 months of e60 ownership?
In my opinion the very hard side walls of the run flats and the relatively soft Al wheels result in bent rims.
I now know that insurance is available...this just wasn't part of my calcs in the e60.
I will never track this car...all I want ar wheels that stay round because the car is great.

Here in NJ, there was a class-action lawsuit against Mercedes and AMG due to hundreds of owners claiming that their rims were "not suitable for the purpose that they were put in the stream of commerce." I don't know what happened in the end, but I think it was settled.
My point is that you should see if there is a massive outcry, and if so, go see an aggressive class-action attorney who may be interested.
With respect to the run-flats, I'm not a big fan yet - at least until I get a nail in my tire. They do ride hard, and I think they may be unnecessary. I would enjoy a better ride as a trade-off to normal tires.
