Tight IPod integration

It looks like an integrated IPod adapter is available and you can keep your IPod in glove box and control volume, playlist from the car controls. Unfortunately this is not available for 5 series.
Any idea when this would be available on 5 series as well? Could it be a mid-season update for 07? It does appear that 07 5 series would have standard auxillary input that can be used to plugin an IPod. However, playlist control would have to be done from Ipod which is rather inconvenient.

Aux input is the best you can do...

I got tired of waiting for it, or similar products long promised and delayed by Dension & others, so got the aux input and hardwired my iPod--see my install DIY in the sticky at the top of this forum

Another alternative that I recently started using is burning MP3 CDs & DVDs. I burned 2 8 GIG double layer DVDs, which can be navigated through iDrive--see my sticky at the top of this forum (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=135231).
