 E60 Price Question

Does anybody know exactly what the Dealer Invoices are for the new 06 525i and 530i? Also, what is the Dealer Invoice for these two models as European Delivery?

I saw another post regarding this question but the link seems to be dead.

Any help is much appreciated.

5 Ratke (sp?) has been very helpful in giving me the ED dealer invoice costs for the 2006 525i and 530i (where does he get them?) Now I have to decide which one I want, and order it from my dealer for delivery in Municn next fall. I think I want the basic manual transmission car with bi-xenon, premium package and cold weather package. My dealer owes me, since I wrote a favorable article about him in Roundel "Birkenstocks Meet BMW", May 2003, pp. 66-67), and at $1,000 over invoice I could get the 525 at the factory for $39,920 and the 530 for $42,940. Is the 530i worth $3,020 more? I think so, but welcome any thoughts. Thanks. Jim Patterson

Jim,

I'm leaving a week from today to pick up my '06 525i in Munich. I would have changed to a 530i, but given time constraints which would have delayed the process by a month, I stuck with the 525. Also, I need to buy a second car and I'm relocating, so the $3000 savings comes in handy.

Otherwise, the $3000 will buy you a better engine and likely better re-sale value. Dollar for dollar (given the included xenon headlights and lower prices on packages, the 530 is probably a bit better.

Regardless, I guarantee you that I will be happy with my new purchase. Expect updates and pics soon. PittBMW was also in the same predicament. You may want to ask his opinion. I did when I was making a decision and he was helpful.

good luck.

Thanks, Sharma, for your comments. I'm sure you'll be happy w your 525i. It's a lot faster than my 2001 525i, and ED price is very reasonable. I'm leaning towards the 530 though, based on your comments and those of others. Friend here says 530 has 255 hp but feels like 280 partly since water pump not run off engine, as apparently it is in 525. I got my 01 in Munich and we had a great 10 days in Bavaria, and know you'll enjoy wherever you go too. Send pics.Jim
