 beewang! BMW CCA question

beewang - long time no speak - hope you're on this forum every so often. Someone from another site mentioned I could find you here. I have a small question about BMW CCA and the rebate. I bought a new E60 back in January, filed my rebate claim in January, BMW NA verified my CCA membership on February 7th. On March 6th, they sent me a letter stating that I did not submit my proof of purchase with the claim (which is true). I got the letter in the Friday mail too late to call CCA, so I'm calling them Monday.

Since I bought the car on January 7th, I am now outside of the 60 day window for filing the claim. Do you know if that means I'm screwed, or will they allow me to submit the remaining paperwork and get the rebate?

I'm calling CCA on Monday, but I've been told you know more about rebates and Euro delivery than BMW CCA and BMW NA combined.

Thanks in advance!

PMBI but calling BMWCCA may do you no good. They are not involved in processing the rebates, it's BMWNA that is. In fact the rebate requests get mailed to BMWNA as you can see if you have a copy of the BMW CCA Membership Reward Check Request Program form. I'm not saying it's not worth a try but you might want to contact the BMWNA office responsible for processing the requests instead. If that's what you meant you were going to do then "never mind". Since you submitted an incomplete request you may still be in compliance with the 60-day window but I wouldn't hold my breath unless someone has had positive results under similar circumstances.

BRI!

You're right - BMW NA does handle the rebate program, but the letter about the missing paperwork ends with "If you have any questions regarding your membership, please contact BMW CCA at....". Well, Duh! I don't have questions about my membership, I have questions about my rebate. In very small print, there is also a number for the main BMW NA office and an email address for the person who sent me the letter. I'll be making contact via multiple paths.

Good luck, RobertB! You might have a case since they are aware when you bought the car but I suspect they'll look for any excuse NOT to give you your money!

I think since you initiated the rebate within the window, you should be fine.
