Is anyone aware of a way to disable PDC. I have never needed it before and find it intrusive. Plus I do not want to ever depend on it.

try pulling a fuse? 
I think the dealer would need to deactivate it to avoid annoying alarms from system failure.

I vaguely recall something in the I-Drive menu but I'm sure you've scoured that pretty thoroughly! I would call the dealer and see if they know off hand before taking it in.
