2005 545i chime problem anyone else?

I have had a problem with my car for about 2 months now which I will probably bring it in this week. I think I figured out what cause my problem. When ever I start my car the car chimes for the seat belt and if it is cold out. The problem is sometimes even if the seat belt is on and there is no seat belt light on it continues chimeing. The only way to stop it is to turn off the car and started it again. This doesn't happen all the time but more recently since it has been colder out. So I think I came a conclusion. When I start the car it chimes for the seat belt. Once I put it on it still goes. I think it gets stuck on and the below 37* thing doesn't come on when it is cold out. So when I shut the car off and start it the cold temp thing finally comes on the head up display and then goes away with the chime. Has anyone else had this problem??

Well, pick a cold morning if possible and take it to they dealer. Maybe if they are smart, they'll put some ice cubes around the temp sensor if it isn't cold enough out and see if they can reproduce the problem. It is a new one on me, however, my car hasn't sat out in anything colder than 40 degrees F.

... and it is not correlated to cold weather. I have had it happen on mild days too. There does not seem to be any consistent cause-- any others out there? Is there a solution?

Unfortunately, inconsistent problems are tough to diagnose and fix. It will be up to you, the car owner, to figure out how to consistently make the issue appear and then demonstrate it to the dealer so they can fix it.

Odds are good if you don't do this that you will hear the dreaded "Can't reproduce" at the end of the day.
