We are considering buying the new 2006 3 series bimmer and I would like an opinion as to whether to buy real leather or the leatherette. Is there a big difference or is it all in the mind Thanks

Thanks for all the info . I think we will probably look at the car from the resale point of view . My husband has never been know to keep a Car for more than 3 or 4 years .and Since we consider a Bimmer a high end car we would want the best resale value . When we go to the dealer we are going to demand we see both before buying . We would not care if it were only a couple of hundred difference but $2500.00 is alot of money to dish out without comparing.

I can live with leatherette. In the end, It looks better longer.

For resale in 3 or 4 years, I would guess the leather would be a worthwhile investment. If you didn't care and planned to keep it many years, the leatherette would look better in the end. My '96 MBZ C280 seats look almost showroom new. Leather would not look that way today.
