 Steering Wheel Shakes

I just put some rims on my car and at first they where all right until you start to go over 45mph the steering wheel started to shake I'm suppose to go back in for some new tires because the tires were a little old but something in my mind is telling that thats not going to work can someone please help!!!!!!!!!!

Tires are bad, wheels are bent, wheels aren't balanced correctly, or car is out of alignment. It could be any pne of these are a combination of a few or all of the above.

You need to make sure the wheels are balanced. Go to a shop that has a Hunter 9700 balancer.

Also, you may need Hub rings. Get the metal ones.

If you still have the OEM wheels & tires, which I presume did not exhibit the same vibration, then I suggest you put them back on to verify it is the new wheel/tire combo. If you cannot do this then I would remove each wheel and inspect for damage, as in bent, particularly on the inner surface, also carefully examining the tires for damage. Assuming all is well there, you should verify if the wheels are hub-centric ( the center hole on the wheel EXACTLY matches the hub diameter) or lug-centric (wheels designed for multiple fitments often require a hub-ring and if so are mounted precisely (this can be difficult). You can usually find this info on the web. If you are satisfied all is well at this point, arnolds advice above is your next step, especially if you are buying new tires.
