Hi guys, im new to this forum and had a question for you folks, I bought a 530i from a local auction, it has a flood salvage title. All the elctricals seem to work but it wont start. I thought it might be the ECM, but if it was that wouldnt all the electricals not work...
any help if very much appreciated.

The E60 is the worst possible car to buy as a flood salvage- that thing is held together with electronics. There are literally miles of wires in that car. I don't even know where to begin with what could be preventing the car from starting- it could be mud in the cylinders, mud in the gas tank, mud in the filters, corrosion in the plug wires, the list goes on and on and on and on.....
In any case, I wish you good luck and I hope you get it running. Somebody else here may have better advice than me.

Er, why would you (or anyone) buy a car with a salvage title?
Unless you want to make your local BMW wealthy.

hmm because it was very cheap, and i didnt think it would be that hard to fix... i guess i got myself into a nightmare..
it was salvage due to some local flooding... so i guess it would be fresh water flooding...
