 redesigned 5 series

i know it is way premature but anyone have thoughts on when the redesigned 5 series will be released? the current model started in 04 so based on a 7 year cycle the new one should be out in 10 as an 11 model year. based on these threads i would not buy a model its first year out...there always seem to be kinks to iron out. i would be in the market in 11 though. count me in for ED!

I was told they make changes every 4 years. Not necessarily the huge style changes, but nothing for 4 years. Didn't the e60 come out 03-04?

are every 4 yrs. major redesigns are typically every 7 yrs, although that can vary.

There was a supposedly confidential BMW chart that was leaked which showed the production timetable for all platforms. It appeared in the magazine of the Golden Gate chapter of BMWCCA. If I recall, the new 5 sedan appears in 2010 and is code-named F10 and the touring in 2011 (code F11).

that would have been my guess. 10 for the sedan, 11 for the wagon...we still have a ways to go.
