I know most of you will say you needed more room...is there anything else..?
I'm looking at a 645ci with 6k miles and 550i with 4500 miles....can't decide...I see lots of 5 series out there not many 6 series...

6 is more rare no doubt but it is quite a different car overall.
5 is what works for my situation: family and vacation car. The 6 would not work as well.

My reason for choosing the 5 over the 6: The 650 is a flashy car -- even here in Hollywood. The 550 is somewhat understated (mine passes for its 6 cylinder siblings). I had an '03 SL and an '05 911, and grew tired of the attention (positive from collegues and often negative from other drivers).

I'd love to drive a 6er, and I'd say that the number one reason why I'm not is price.
The 545i is WAY more than I've ever spent on a car, and making the jump to the cost of a 6 is just not in the cards for me. I'd love to, but I have a hard enough time justifying to myself the cost of the 5. The 6, at roughly another $10k retail (more like $15k for the convertible which is what I'd really like), is just too much for me to chew.
Space is also an issue, and the sedan is much more useful to me for that reason. But if they were the same price I'd be all over the 6!

i bought the 550 since it was cheaper and I already had a two seater. if you dont have a sports car and dont have a family get the 650
