Edmunds just said the 330i is the "perfect sports luxury sedan." Yes, they called it "Perfect". Would you ever buy one over a 525i or 530i? For the record, I am a big fan of the 525i and 530i, so I am not trying to bash them in any manner. I was just very intrigued by the Edmunds report, and wondered what the opinions of the E60 posters might be. |

I struggled long and hard over this. E90 330 loaded vs E60 530 loaded/550 "stripper".
In the end the added space of the 5er won out. My kids would kick the seats to no end in the 3er and the 5er trunk will be very handy on long trips...
One small thing: I do like the integrated roof rack mounting holes on the E90 ala the E39 - wish the E60 had them...

The 330 really does look sharp, and I drove an E36 for 10 years. But I think I'm now 'addicted' to the extra room in the 5er and I'd have a hard time going back.

If I didn't need the room, I'd by the 330i in a heartbeat (if there wasn't a Z4).

If they ever made the 5 series to "feel" like the new 3 series....it would be impossible to beat. I took clients out to see property yesterday and the 3 was kind of small for 4 people. But I've had both the E60 and the E90 in the past 2 years and without a doubt the E90 is the "driver's car". The steering is MUCH sportier in the 3...feedback is really good...the 5 left me detached from the experience but I loved the room inside and the bling factor.
