I'm considering a new exhaust for my 04 545i. The M5 quad exhaust to be exact. Has anyone done this?

I don't believe you can fit the stock M5 quad exhaust because there's not enough room on the right of the 545 to accommodate the mufflers. The M5 doesn't have a spare tire compartment like the 545.
There are 3 other vendors our there with "quad" exhaust systems...Hamann, Eisenmann and RDSport. The Hamann and Eisenmann systems run a dummy pipe to the right with dual exhaust tips but they're not functional. The RDSport system has an X-pipe from the cat and runs two pipes back with mufflers on each side. The muffler on the right is tilted at an angle to fit in the limited space there.
Whatever you choose to do, you'll also have to modify your stock rear valence or get the RDsport or Hamann rear spoilers that has cut-outs for the right exhaust tips.

where did you get your aux input done eurocarfan?

I got it done at my local dealer, Stevens Creek BMW. They originally quoted over $300 or so but I got info that the process should only be about 1.5 hours and the part is only $75. I also heard of another Bay Area dealer doing it for only $210 so I told my SA at Stevens Creek and they price matched. To clarify, this is just the input. You probably already know but Aux input doesn't mean your iPod is integrated.
BTW, looking at your Future Plans...my car is at Dinan right now getting the CAI, exhaust and throttle body installed...

that is awesome, I want to do i tbad, but I have to wait till i get alittle more cash, let me know how the car feels and sounds after... Can you send me a pic of your clear bra? Where does it stop? Can you tell its on there?
