How does ED lease work?
I'm thinking about leasing a '06 530i via ED. I've heard that BMWFS takes care the 1st month payment on the lease for ED, however, it raises the MF. How much higher would the MF be over the base 0.0014?

I think leasing, for the most part, is the way to go for some of these cars. One main simple reason is sales tax, assuming you need to pay it on the car. For leasing, you only pay sales tax on the amount of time you are leasing (renting) the car...not on the full value. This can be quite a savings in itself. ED is another good way and finally, you also want the BMW CCA rebate ($1k for 5ers!)! Lottsa ways to save cash on these cars....
When I lease my '05 545i, I got a MF of 0.001 and a Residual of 61%. On top of that, I did an ED and I also got my $1k back from BMWCCA. Of course, add 0.0003 to that for ED.
Basically, the 0.0003 surcharge and the 1 month free equate to a wash. More precisely, better to not have the surcharge and tell BMW to keep the free monthly payment but you are talking nickels and dimes now....

I'm in So Cal, so I can realize the tax saving. I did a quick calculation, and my total cost for leasing it, via ED, for 3 years is actually less than owning it for 3 years assuming I can sell the car at the same residual.
Is it possible to get the base MF + 0.0003 without any mark-up? Would you do the last of the '06's and take advantage of the good lease deal OR would you go for the first of the '07's. I assume the deal on the '07 will not be as good, not to mention any price increase. BTW, when are the last ED '06 E60's?
