 Sad M5 Story

Hey all. Just heard a story third hand and believe it to be true. Seems a friend of a friend (really) recently found a mint M5 on ebay. He got a great deal on the car and has been loving it every since he bought it. He took it to a shop in Northern VA for routine maintenance. Please don't ask for the name of the shop as I don't want to be "black balled" if this is not 100% accurate. In any event, he returned to pick up his M5 and noted they had put 25 miles on the car. When he went to drive the car away, there was no first or second gear! After being sick about it and dealing with the shop, the owner has agreed to replace the clutch and the transmission. He has also offered to service the car for life for life. I guess it was a good thing the guy noted the mileage before dropping the car off for service. Lesson learned!

I read online about a Cobra that got joyridden by the SVT Tech at a San Antonio dealership...he bragged about it online. The owner of the car figured it out by reading about it on the forum....

Yes, he got sacked and the owner was given restitution.

I loved that story.

Alex, that indeed, is a classic thread, and deserves to be brought back at least every six months!
