I'm looking to buy a E39 M5 in Spring, and I'm looking to have some Dinan work done to it. The main reason that I'm not looking at a E60 M5 is because of the lack of a "true" manual transmission. I've been looking around the internet, reading and searching various publications, and I was wondering if anybody's heard or read anything about up and coming Dinan modifications for the E60 M5? I know that the E60 M5 was recently released, but I was just curious as to what Dinan is going to be doing to further "improve" on the near perfect E60 M5.  |

I believe they announced that a manually tranny is forthcoming for the M5.

6 speed manual trans will be available beginning with September 2006 production. Was announced in a dealer bulletin in July, and the product information guide in Sempember.

Thanks for the info.!!!! Now I can look forward to upgrading my E39 M5 to an E60 M5 manual in a couple of years.

Steve Dinan has a white e60 M5 and they were putting the Dinan wheels on it. I didn't get a chance to ask Felipe, the sales guy that gave me the tour, about any upcoming upgrades for the M5 but I'll remember to check with him the next time I talk to him.
