I tried searching, but ended without any results. Well every time I enter in my car, the climate control is always on. Before I leave the car, I make sure everything is off. Is there a setting I'm missing? I just picked up my 530i and I'm trying to figure out things (manual is not very informative) |

yeah there is a setting... you probably found it by now if your readin the manual... the 'rest' function has a timer to circulate 'fresh' air in the car before you get back in it... but it does give you the ability to disable it, and since it sounds like it's buggin you out you should probably do that... i thought it would pump left over hot air into my cabin on cold days before i returned to the car. i set it and found out the hard way that it just uses outside air... not a such a pleasent surprise when the outside air in NY is below thirty... so now mine's disabled too... i think it's in 'vehicle settings' in the main iDrive menue, but check the manual... you'll find it...

Rest will continue to circulate residual warm air for 10-15 minutes after the car is turned off. The timer is an iDrive function that you can set to turn on and circulate outside air. One is useful in cold weather and the other is useful in warm weather.
