For any of you with a 550i with steptronic transmission, does the car have a gas guzzler tax? I know on the 545, the cars with automatics did not get the tax, but manuals did. I was not sure about the 550 with automatic. I was playing around on edmunds.com yesterday, and they included a $1,000 gas guzzler tax on a 550 equipped with steptronic automatic, but my dealer says no gas guzzler tax on automatic.

I have not looked at one on the lot yet to see the window sticker to confirm. I know one could argue that if you are paying 60,000 + for a car, why worry about the gas guzzler tax. Well, for me, I have paid 1,000 on each of the past two e46 M3s, and I don't especially want to pay any more.
