I was looking at the original window sticker of my 2006 530i Sport yesterday (I put it in the glove box when took delivery) and noticed that the tires were designated as 17 inch. How can this be? I thought the sport package translated into 18 inch wheels. Sorry for my ignorance, but how do I validate that I really have 18 inch wheels and not 17s. |

Maybe you should go and look at the tires on your car. If the tires are size 18s then the wheels are size 18. An 18 inch tire will not hold air on a 17 inch rim.

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do I validate that I really have 18 inch wheels and not 17s. | I'm not positive about this since I no longer have my sticker, but you may be looking at the "standard equipment" portion of the sticker which would list 17's. Then, you should have a separate line item for the Sport Package which includes the 18's, but they likely won't be listed.
Of course, as BIG AL mentioned, the easiest way is to look at your tires. The size is shown on the sidewall.

Yes, I know it sounds silly, but I am a real noob in this sports car world (i.e., never had performance tires before).
I just looked...240/45R18. Woot.
