2006 530xi "High Battery Drain Message"
Not too concerned but I would like any feedback. Own a 2006 530xi Orient Blue, Auburn Dakota, 18' Star, Cold Pkg., Sprts Pkg, Premium Pkg, Nav, and every morning I turn the car on I get the ! High Battery Drain Message. Only happens the first time turn the car for the day. Never happens again the rest of that day. I'm told it's software and can be upgraded. Other than that, the car has been AWESOME! Bluetooth works great with my Razor.

Thanks. | You should bring the car in for the software upgrade. I had a similar problem along with a bunch of iDrive issues with my 2006 530i. A few days after getting the warning message the car wont start. The dealership had to replace the battery. I just brought the car back in for the third time since the iDrive screen won't come up. I was told by the service advisor today that the micro power module was dead and needs to be replaced.

Thanks. | In almost all cases, this is purely a software issue that will be cured with an update, There is no actual excessive battery drain and unless your problem is elsewhere, it will never prevent you from starting the car. Do a search and you'll come across the link to a TSB which explains the cause of the problem. I speak from experience since I had the problem as well.

I believe CIP 19.01 or later is the update you need. This eliminates the high battery drain warning. I had the same problem and it was corrected with CIP 19.01. Hope this helps.

Excellent. This venue for BMW information sharing has been great and I'll kee  p you posted on any other issues (Hopfully None) that I may enounter.
