 2006 550i Electrical Issues

Our 2006 550i is only two weeks old, and after bringing it back from the tint shop today, the alarm started going off for no reason, then the computer reset itself and tells us the back passenger door is open (when it's not). The courtesy light won't turn off either, and the lights on the side view mirrors go off and on. I'm afraid the battery won't last through the night...!! Any advice??

Sounds like the tint shop did something. The alarm, door open indication, and courtesy light all seem to be related.

I have 2500mi on my 550 and havent had any issues. What kind of tint did they use. If it was a metallic tint, thats probablly the problem, its interfering with the electronics of the car.

A metallic tint should only affect radio reception. It could be the tint shop used too much water and it ran down and shorted out a module. I know there is a bulletin on the e65 on both metallic and excess water issue this but I dunno about the e60.

I bet the tint has a lot to do with it. You should get ceramic tints installed instead.
