What options retain the most value and least value?

BMW allows a driver to choose his/her options from a wide variety of selections. Some people like this, some do not. I know that options can be very subjective. Each person has his/her preferences. But, what I would like to know is from a financial standpoint, which options retain the most value over three years? My guess is the following:
In order of retaining value
Automatic
Premium Package
Sport Package
Cold Weather Package
Siruis Satellite Radio
Rear Seat Fold down
Navigation
Comfort Access
Comfort Seats
Park Distance Control
Rear Seat Air Bags
Premium Sound
HUD

Go to www.kbb.com and you'll see that they don't even give you an opportunity to select most options when doing a used car valuation. For the ones they do list, you could see the value difference with and without each option to answer your question.

The M Aero kit added $400 to the residual on the lease of our 550i

You'd be surprised how few options change the wholesale prices.

Looking at my Galves book (which I know is what most northeast dealers use), the only items that bump the price up for are (in order): Nav, Sport package, DVD entertainment. I used a 2004 545i automatic as an example vehicle.

For a 2004 530i, the sport package is worth more than nav. You also get deductions on a 530 for no leather, and no premium package.

Yes, I agree with you. I just went to http://www.kbb.com and looked at the value of a 2004 530i. As you stated the packages that retained the most value were: automatic, premium, sport, navigation, Parking Distance Sensors (I was surprised by this one). The other options did not retain much value. There was nothing listed for comfort seats, comfort access, HUD, power rear shade, or satellite radio.

Look again... it added $400 to the residual basis (amount the residual is calculated from). So, it added xx% of $400 to the residual, where xx is your residual percentage.
