wood trim selecor and brake handle question

Hi,

My 530I should arrive in a week or two, I am thinking about replacing the factory selector lever and parking brake handle with wood trimmed parts. I have a dark poplar trim with beige leather, will that match with Burl Walnut knob and handle? can the leather on the selector be beige too? my CA gave me good prices on the selector(~117), handle(~106), and euro rear reflector(18 for both), but asked $125 for the installation. is that a fair labor cost for putting these things on my car? I am thinking if that's reasonable charge, I'd rather not do it myself.

thank you very much for you helps!

By selector, do you mean the iDrive knob or the gear shift? If you mean the gear shift selector, it just pulls off though it does require some effort. And that is true of the parking brake handle as well. You can do it yourself, but be careful when pulling off the gear selector, it will pop off and some have been known to hit themselves in the head! I bought the parts and installed both myself, they are quite easy to do. Save the $125 of labor and do it yourself. The poplar shift knob and brake handle are a nice addition in my opinion. As for the leather on the gear shift knob, I don't think you can get it with different color leather, it only comes with the grey leather. That may have changed but when I got mine, grey only.
