I called a tire place about swap charges winter/summer tires. When they found out that I have RFs, he said it would cost more to put them back on. Anyone know why?

Anyone know why? | RF's have stiffer side walls compared to regular tires and the tire shops need special equipment to change the tire so they don't damage the rim. cheers vern

Are you swapping the tires on the rims or the whole wheel? You may be better off just putting the snow/winter tires on a new set of wheels (maybe some inexpensive steel wheels) and swapping the whole wheel. Swapping the whole wheel will be very inexpensive since they won't have to do anything to the tire/rim. In fact you could probably easily do it yourself once the tires are monted.
