For those with comfort access can you please comment : 1) If the key-fob is in a brief case in the trunk can I start the car (if yes I assume it will start if the case is on the back seat/ or passenger seat) 2) Can I still "lock" the car the old way of pushing the button (for self assurance purposes that the car is locked..with visual effects ON) 3) Are there any features of the CA that are "controlable" from the I-Drive ? 4) When I approach the vehicle with the said briefcase in (1) will the truck auto open (could be risky if it flies up in the air ? or will be be opened and ready to be popped up ! Thanks ! Noddy, California PS. Asked dealer all these questions, could I get a clear answer .... no : Hence the experts here |

I'm trying to figure out how comfort access is related to the push button start function.
I hear the push-button start is standard on all 5-series now...is this true? Why do I still see cars with the actual key?
How is comfort access different?
Sorry for the newb question...

If I had to guess, I would say cabin only, but that is a guess. It will be unlocked only.

Sorry for the newb question... | The start-stop button like the one in the 3 and 7 series only changes the way you start the car. Instead of putting in the key and turning, you now put in the fob, and press start. With comfort access, you don't need to do that. When the key is in your pocket (for example,) and you walk up to the car, the car will automatically unlock the doors, and when you sit in it, you can press start without having the fob inside the opening...

Does it lock all doors automatically as you walk away from the car or do you need to press something on the fob?
