I have a 2005 545 BMW and have not had success with transferring my phonebook with my newly purchased motorola v557. Everything else works fine. Interestingly, the phonebook transfer instantly with my 2001 X5 retrofitted with bluetooth. Anyone have some experience with this issue?

Did you try a different (phone) firmware ?
Unfortunately not every phone is working with BMW 's bluetooth....
