Ok so what features should I have the dealer set (DRL's, alarm, locking) and what should I make sure they review with me (iDrive)? Unfortunately they are an hour away from me so I don't want to have to drive back anytime soon.

uny530xi | Look over your car for scratches (inside and outside) and paint imperfections. Look under the door lips to make sure that paint is all there as well. Make sure there are no check control messages in the iDrive, and double check your oil level as well. The only feature that the dealer will set are the DRL's, everything else you can set from the iDrive.  Try out your stereo to make sure all the speakers are working properly. In fact there are so many things to look for that I can't possibly name them all!

Don't worry too much about the iDrive - there is so much there that you'll not remember much of what the dealer shows you anyway. Just about everything can be set/adjusted from the iDrive so you'll want to spend some time with the owners manual - and reading this board. Its a great help. 
Why are you buying the car from a dealer located an hour away? Did you get a better deal there - or is that the closest dealer?

yes there is one close but it's the "only" one and they price accordingly
