Please Help me choose the color of my new 06 530
Well, now that USC has put away UCLA (45-6, still in third quarter) I can get back to my BMW quest! No offense to UCLA fans. I love college football. I have really learned a lot on this great forum and from you folks. I need some more opinions from you great folks. I am having a heck of a time choosing the exterior color, which will help dictate interior color. I am torn and I mean torn between Black Sapphire Metallic, Silver Grey Metallic, and Grey Titanium Metallic. I keep going back and forth between all three of these colors. I would really appreciate some honest opinions from you good folks. Also, it would be really be helpful when giving your opinion of an exterior choice between the three choices, if you could also list your interior choice as well. I want to make sure I get this car right. Thank you very much. | I ordered my 530xi with Black Sapphire and gray interior and the dark wood trim (poplar?). My last car (which I just sold) was a 1999 528i that was Jet Black with a gray interior, dark wood trim. The glossy black color shows dirt very quickly, but looks great when clean. I'm hoping the metallic black will show just a little less dirt, but I doubt it will. I seriously considered titanium gray/gray/anthracite. Sort of a monochrome effect. My sales rep talked me out of it. One of the bmw boards out there had some pics, I thought it looked pretty sweet.
I tend to prefer the darker colors on the new E60.

WELL COLOR DEPENDS ON PERSONAL LIKING, ME I LIKE THE TITANIUM GRAY METALIC, WITH GRAY INTERIOR, THATS WHAT I GOT ON MY 05 545. BUT IF YOU GET A BLACK OR SAPHIRE, BE READY TO WASH IT WEEKLY AND NOT LEAVE IT OUT IN THE RAIN. SO THOSE ARE MY THOUGHTS

i dont mean to offend anyone but i will give my honest opinion about colors. i chose titanium grey with beige int for my 06 e61 wagon. i am very happy with the choice. as far as interiors go: i just spent 7 years with an audi a4 avant silver with grey interior. i was thoroughly sick of grey leather. black int is nice but very dark (obviously) frankly speaking, the bmw grey leather is awful. it is a blueish grey and is very ugly in my opinion. i like the golden color of beige although i know most like black. black int also makes the cockpit seem smaller.
as far as exterior colors go, sapphire black is awesome, if you go that route i would go beige int since that is a classic look. black is very tough to keep looking good. and, depending upon how long you are going to keep the car, i feel the swirl marks are going to find you eventually with black. silver grey is a nice color i thought long and hard about it but it does not go well with beige. since buying my car in titanium grey, i have since seen many silver grey e60s. i have news for you:when silver grey is dirty it does not look good. it loses its distinctiveness and becomes very washed out looking. titanium grey is tricky to keep clean in its own right, i do admit that. overall i am quite happy with it. i would avoid silver grey and either get titanium grey. another interestung color is monaco blue but i am afraid it is as hard to keep cleanas sapphire black..good luck

I prefer to start with the interior color and work my way out! I'm a huge fan of black interiors...they seem to wear the best....and I never get tired of black as I'm on my 7th BMW with black int.
That said...if you want to look "mean"...get the Sapphire.
If you want to look classic (conservative)....get the Grey.
If you want to look modern...get the Silver Grey.
