i have a 2006 525i which i got in june of 2005. it does not play MP3's and that the manul states that it should. can someone help me with this problem

and also can someone tell me what is the SW update for people with the Nav Pro

As of now, there is no software update that will allow Nav Pro cars to play MP3's.

thanks for the input and hopefully the bmw company will come out with a update for the people with nav pro to play the mp3's.

please let me know if you find out something about the mp3 issue in the 2006 5 series

I thought the MP3 issue was a bummer. But realized that only the in dash cd is capable of MP3 support. Not the changer. So not much gain here.

I will most likely check out Phatnoise and get a disk for the trunk and route it to the aux input in the glove box.

my in-dash cd player doesn't play mp3's either

why would it say in the manual that it play compressed audio files and mp3's if it don't

It's a "Texas" thing.

Ya see, they are "a fixin" to have MP3 support.
