Can Sirius Module be Transferred from 2004 to 2006?

I currently own a 2004 530i with Sirius installed by the dealer. I just recently renewed my Sirius subscription for another two years, and I know that the subscription goes with the Sirius ESN.

I'm just now considering upgrading to the 2006 530i. My question is -- can the Sirius module (with my subscribed ESN) easily be transferred by the dealer to the new 2006 530i? If so, should I be looking at 2006 cars that already have Sirius and ask the dealer to do the swap, or should I just be looking at ones that only have the satellite radio prep. and transfer the module from my 2004?

I know, in the scheme of what the new car costs, this is immaterial, but am just curious as to the feasibility.

I guess no one reading this board knows the answer. I'll discuss this with my dealer tomorrow.

Thanks

Sorry, I'm not too sure of the answer. I guess if the 2004 was dealer installed, I don't know why they couldn't transfer it

Well, between the module and the subscription, it's not immaterial really. Based on other models, the answer should be yes. Still, I suggest verifying with dealer. AFAIK, there were no material changes to the car between 2004 and 2006 that would impact. But one never knows...

Thanks to both of you for your answers.

For others that might be curious, I'll post the dealer's response once I find out.
