I'm not sure which route I should take with my 2006 530xi sport package.
- Purchase a good set of 18' Ultra High Performance All-Season tires (Pirelli PZero Nero M+S reviews would be appreciated) to permanently replace my Summer Run Flats
or
- Purchase a set of 17" wheels and snow tires (Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 reviews would be appreciated) and swap the Summer Run Flats seasonally

I'd say to get the 17's and swap them. You'll have the best tire all the time that way.

My current vehicle is a 2003 330xi with 17" HP All Season tires. I have a 2006 530xi which was just loaded onto to the Don Juan scheduled to arrive in NYC on the 30th.

i use michelin pilot sprott a/s [18"]on my audi tt awd. they have been very good in the mountain snows, in washinton state and across i90 in the rockys. plus i didnt realize and driving differences form the summer preformance tires i took off.
i put 18"pzero on my 330cic and really hated them.. traction was ok but the handling was bad. turn the wheel and wait for the car to respond.

My 530xi has been "awaiting transportation" all week, according to the Owner's Circle web site. Perhaps my 530xi is with yours on the Don Juan?

I will go with the Michelin Pilot A/S based on the great reviews when I pull the trigger. Although an 18" rim with wide tires is not recommended for snowy driving, at least I won't have to change it out every winter season and this set up could be the same or better than my factory 17" rims with so so Conti All Season Tires.
