You know you need a software update if you have strange problems with your car- iDrive freezing up, random and unexplainable error messages, etc. What model year is your car? You need to go to your dealer to get the updates.

i have a 05 545i , and i got it on like 22nd of october. and its brand new , and just recently like today i was driving and my car is an smg and like i was stoped and when i gave it gas to accelarte at a light the car felt like it was gona stall . . . wats up with this. . . thanks

You may want to mention something to the dealer about the stall feeling though, the car is a complex system and there could be something wrong that is not software related.
