 Rant Alert: Where's the love???

I'm amazed at the limited and small minded thinking of my local BMW dealership. Perhaps I'm being unrealistic - but I think I have a legitimate beef.

In less than 12 months my wife and I have purchased a 330i, a 545i and will be taking delivery on a new (full retail) 650i next week. We did these deals with the SAME dealership and the SAME salesperson (who we are both quite fond of, btw). I think in anyone's book I'm a good, loyal customer who obviously likes to buy cars.

Here's the problem. Yesterday, my wife and I went to see my favorite salesman about purchasing a new 550 (because my 545i doesn't have premium sound, sport, nav or comfort access). He quickly located the one I wanted on a boat due into CA on October 30th. I explained that I understood the car was in high demand - but considering that it would by my FOURTH bimmer from them in less than 12 months would he sell it to me for $2,000 over invoice.

At that his face contorted into some ugly, gargoylish expression and he said he'd have to ask the sales manager. After some time he came back and said that because its new he knows people will pay more. I couldn't budge him and I left the dealership.

As the night went on I became more and more frustrated. It appears loyalty to a single dealership gets me absolutely nothing. They would rather make a little more on a one time sale than give me a discount for my frequent purchases. (Remember the 650i is at full retail). Doesn't the life time value of a customer mean anything?? Isn't my continued patronage valued???? Shouldn't they consider the total profit earned from selling us four cars in 12 months be considered.

Am I being out of line? Surely other BMW dealerships have more understanding of the differnce between a one time customer and a loyal, lifetime customer who likes to buy cars??

Maybe I'm overreacting - but it seems loyalty to this dealership doesn't mean a thing.

I would react the same way. Four cars in a year I would think they would be willing to go very short on a deal for you. Speedfreak is a San Diego BMW sales/mgmt guy. Give him a PM he might be able to do something for you. (If it was his dealership then never mind )

That's why, in general, it pays to shop on the Internet. Loyalty usually doesn't pay (except with my deals).

I am getting a fully loaded 550 for 2150.00 over invoice it is my 3rd car, + I brought two other people who bought there. Pretty much same scenario. DO NOT BUY THERE, unless they give you that PRICE. If they dont somebody else will. THIS IS ALOT OF MONEY YOU HAVE GIVEN THEM!!!!!!!!!!

As a point of clarification I have know idea what dealership Speedfreak is at. I meant he is in San Diego and works at a BMW dealership. Didn't want want anyone to think I was talking about a particular dealership.
