 e60 gauges

Hi, I am new to this site. I followed some threads for awhile, decided it was a good forum, and I registered. I have a comment/question on the gauges on the 2004 525i, which I just purchased with only 7,000 miles on it.

It seems strange to me that a performance sedan does not have a temp gauge or an oil pressure gauge. It would be a great feature if it could be dialed up on the idrive via a software update.

Any comments on this?

Yes it would be a great feature. We had the temp gauge on the last 5-series (the E39), but now it has disappeared. The only thing you get is a warning light if you get too hot, and the "countdown" LED's on the tach to let you know how high you can rev based on how warmed-up the engine is.

645/545i had a temp guage. I guess those of us with smaller engines just get the iDrive warning. Oh well!

Really? Maybe it was the 645 then, it had some sort of temp guage under the tach.

Yes, the 645/650 have temp gauges.

I would think any bimmer would have them. NOt sure what the folks in engineering are thinking sometimes.
